UPDATE (2): Members of the pharmacists guild voted down the tentative agreement so their union and management will need to return to the bargaining table.
UPDATE (1): The Guild for Professional Pharmacists has reached a tentative agreement with Kaiser Permanente.
THE FONTANA HERALD NEWS WROTE:
"Kaiser Permanente pharmacists, including those in the Fontana medical center, voted on April 4 to authorize the Guild for Professional Pharmacists committee to call a strike, if necessary, after negotiations reached no agreement.
According to the GFPP, which represents more than 1,400 pharmacists in Southern California, the employees 'overwhelmingly' authorized the committee to call a strike after Kaiserís bargaining team did not offer better health coverage plans and retirement plans for employees."
Our OPEIU, Local 30 National and Local contracts are current and contain 'no strike clauses' in them which DO NOT permit our members to honor Pharmacist's strike by refusing to cross -for work- any picket lines that they may have. But we can support them in other ways such as this.
